Strings and Hammer is a Piano tuning and servicing business run by Vishal Malik for almost a decade, based out of Mosman, Sydney.
An A.R.P.T. certified concert piano technician, Accredited from APTTA and the NSW piano tuners and technicians Guild. Vishal has undergone 2+ years of full time apprenticeship in Sydney, carving through rigorous and specialised training to meet the exact standards set by the Australasian Piano tuners and technicians association (APTTA). Further to the above certification, Vishal was fortunate to find a Master Kawai and Steinway and sons technician certified from Hamburg, Germany, and completed a 1.5 year apprenticeship learning the advance level nuances in the world of piano tuning and servicing.
Concert pianists, Teachers at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, AMEB, Trinity, ABRSM assessor’s to Emmy, ARIA and APRA award winning song writer and music producer, Institutions such as the Australian Institute of Music (Sydney), Marist Catholic College North Shore, Mosman High, Australian Children’s music foundation, NSW Art gallery and many others have been serviced by Vishal over the years.
Tuning and Servicing pianos for teachers and leading piano dealerships in Sydney, established Kawai and Petrof dealership, the biggest online music store, gained experience with top quality pianos from Steinway and sons, Bösendorfer, fazioli, Blüthner, Petrof, Grotrian, Yamaha, Kawai and many others.
Establishing a consistent tonal quality of tuning, to bring the piano at its best. Trained and experienced in Regulation, Voicing, balancing touch, adjusting key weight and other services, Vishal has been serving some of the region’s top musicians, music institutes and schools.
